A Look Back at 2021

It’s hard to believe that we’re nearing the end of 2021. As we approach the new year, it’s as good a time as any to reflect on the last 12 months. With year 3 of the COVID-19 pandemic in sight, it's fitting to say the year didn't go as planned. Fortunately, it was still a rewarding year for us at Berbix.

In the last year, the makeup and structure of the team has evolved dramatically. At the beginning of 2021, our sales, engineering, solutions, operations, customer success teams were small and nascent, while our marketing team was nonexistent. Today, the company comprises around 30 individuals across those teams.

And we have been very busy this last year. It’s been incredibly rewarding to see the progress that the team has made over the last 12 months, and the acceleration we’ve achieved in the last 3 months in particular.

A Look Back at 2021

In October, we shipped Universal Hosted Links that enable our customers to configure a single URL for any number of users. This dramatically expanded the number of ways that one can use Berbix without writing a single line of code, minimizing the cost required to get an integration off the ground.

In November, we shipped Selfie Reverification to enable end-users to confirm their identity with as little friction as possible. With only an additional selfie, Berbix can compare the image with the ID on file to ensure that it’s still the same user behind the keyboard. This opens new opportunities for identity checks, particularly for sensitive actions that require step-up verification. This lighter-weight but high-confidence option creates seamless, faster experiences for customers and users.

In December, we launched the newest version of Action Maps, providing granular control to our customers for what outcome should come from a transaction. Using an intuitive drag-and-drop interface, you can easily change the conditions to quickly respond to evolving scenarios or user feedback. We’ve already seen customers using Action Maps in ways we never imagined, proving that more control can result in better results.

Over the last quarter, we also worked with partner companies to launch integrations that allow Berbix to be used in an expanded set of situations.

With our Alloy partnership, Berbix customers can bring new data sources to their Berbix integration. Allowing for a best-in-breed approach to identity verification, Alloy customers can allow Berbix to provide maximum conversion and fraud detection and seamlessly integrate with databases to check additional compliance boxes.

With our Auth0 integration, businesses can combine Berbix’s best-in-class identity verification with one of the top authentication providers on the internet. With a few clicks, Auth0 customers can require identity verification for all of their user base, or use a high-flexibility integration to target specific users or users in specific scenarios.

Looking Ahead

It’s been a busy year for us at Berbix, but we’re just getting started. In 2022, we’re going to build on the momentum and launch several highly requested features from our current customers and prospects alike.

We’ll be launching our API-based integration to early beta customers to enable Berbix customers to fully customize the user experience, along with high-powered tools to provide the user experience, fraud detection, and conversion optimization that Berbix customers have grown to rely upon in their own UIs.

We’ll be launching new ways for our customers to integrate with Berbix, providing simple integrations to maximize the usefulness and ease of Berbix identity verifications, particularly for those who don’t have the capacity to build full technical integrations.

It’s going to be an exciting year for us here at Berbix. We have a lot in store, and we can’t wait to share more with you over the next several months.

Happy holidays and happy new year from your friends at Berbix!
